Abstract

The article is focused on brewing and hospitality in Choceň (Chotzen, east part of Czech Republic) during World war I. All developments of beer prices, situations in beer pubs, contemporary limitations and restrictions on beer bars during the fi rst world war were described. All information were gained from District State Archive in the town Ústí nad Orlicí (city chronicle in Choceň), further from the museum archive in Choceň (Orlické muzeum v Chocni).
